Grandma's Attic hosts a wide variety of classes, from those for the novice up through advanced level material. Taught by well-qualified teachers, you will develop new skills, learn to use up-to-date equipment, and participate in class discussions.


Quilt Club - Let's Make Cake!
"A party without a cake is just a meeting!" At least that's what Julia Child said. With that in mind, Grandma is baking up a club full of cake this year! And we've got a heaping helping of fun to go with it. Each month you'll find cake-inspired quilt blocks while learning that the history of cake is actually the history of an evolving world. Quilt Club - Stories of Oregon Towns and Founders 3
In our third session of Towns and Founders Quilt Club, we are continuing our focus on the towns and founders within the state of Oregon. Grandma Rachel will guide you through the fascinating history of these towns, how they got their names, their early history, and more. You'll receive quilt block patterns, an informational newsletter and other entertaining handouts. After each session, there is a fabulous FREE lunch of soup, salad and dessert. Class - Apple Harvest Paper Piecing
If you've ever wanted to learn how to paper piece, this class will teach you what you need to know. Cheryl teaches you how to make a cute apple wall hanging while learning this creative technique. Cheryl Libby, Instructor; Thursday, November 16; 10:00 am--4:00 pm. Class fee includes pattern.

Class - Applique Open Sew
Cheryl will lead you through the basics of fusible web applique. You can use Grandpa's Farm Block of the Month for the blocks and inspiration, you will learn the basics will creating a gorgeous full-size quilt. Alternatively, bring your own project to work on. Class - Bagello Quilt 2
Full of motion, with its waves and curves, Bargello quilts look incredibly difficult to make. Quilt Artist Pat Lee will show you how to easily create this beautiful quilt. Class - Bailey Island Hobo Bag
This bag is comfortable and easy--just like an island vacation. It is made using leftover batting and fabric strips. Class - Basic Beginner Blocks

Start at any time! Everyone was a beginner at one time or another! And what better way to learn the absolute basics of quilt making than with Aunt Cheryl. With over 20 years of quilting experience, she's seen it, sewn it, ripped it out and sewn it over again! Taking you step-by-step (and patiently) through a variety of simple quilt blocks, Cheryl will teach you accurate measuring, cutting and sewing methods, working with you one-on-one until you gain the skills and confidence that you need to be a confident beginner. Once your quilt blocks are constructed, you'll learn how to add sashing and borders to create your very own quilt top. Speak with Cheryl to get started at any time! Class - Basic Clothing Construction
Choose any pattern you want to make. Mare will show you how easy it is to make clothing for yourself. You'll learn the basics of clothing construction, as well as how to customize the pattern to suit your own unique personality. If you've ever wanted to learn how to sew clothing, this is your class. Class - Becky's Aprons

Class - Beginning Machine Quilting
In this informative class, you will learn the basics of Machine Quilting. You will practice machine guided quilting using a walking foot. Instruction includes practice stopping, starting, cross hatching, stitch in the ditch and more. Students will also learn basics of stippling and free motion, while learning to control stitch length and speed. Cheryl Libby, Instructor. 4 Tuesdays, 4/18, 4/25; 5/9 & 5/16; 10:00 am--4:00 pm.
