Classes
Grandma's Attic hosts a wide variety of classes, from those for the novice up through advanced level material. Taught by well-qualified teachers, you will develop new skills, learn to use up-to-date equipment, and participate in class discussions.


Class - Creative Crayons Workshop
Terrie will teach you her Melt-n-Blend techniques for blending crayon into fabric. She will take you step-by-step through the process of coloring fusible applique pieces, choosing a background fabric, and putting all of the pieces together in a small wall hanging. Class fee includes a copy of Terrie's book, and all the fusible applique pieces traced onto fabric. Terrie Kygar, Instructor. Two Saturdays August 26 and September 2; 10:00 am-4:00 pm.

Class - Fabric Tinting with Terrie
Local quilt artist Terrie Kygar has created a new technique for tinting fabric that you are going to love. She'll show you her Brush-n-Blend technique for coloring on fabric wit Crayola Crayons. She will also show you how to embellish with embroidery, or alternative embellishments if embroidery is not your thing. Come find out what it's all about. Terrie Kygar, Instructor. Class - Hand Embroidery Sampler
Create a classic embroidery sampler as you sit and stitch with Aunt Cheryl. She will teach you how to construct the embroidery stitches needed to make a traditional sampler. Class - Murder Mystery Mini Retreat
The Blackwell family, friends and associates of the late County Blackwell gather for dinner and the reading of his Last Will and Testament. The Count's mysterious death occurred just the night before, when his remains were discovered in the library by his wife Elenor around 1:00 am. Secrets are about to be revealed. You are both a suspect and a detective. Help solve the murder and discover who is the perpetrator as you make a small wall quilt. This is an absolutely fun-filled retreat with camaraderie, door prizes and refreshments of all kinds. Cheryl Libby, Instructor. Two sessions available. (Sign up early as class is limited to 10 per evening and fills up fast!) 6:00 pm - Midnight. Pattern is included in class fee.

Class - Open Sew
Come sew with Cheryl! For intermediate to advanced skill level, when you're looking for good company and a little assistance with projects you are working on. Cheryl will be in the classroom to offer assistance on many different types of projects, including sewing, quilting and embroidery. $5 per class you attend. Every Monday, September 11 through December 18; Every Wednesday, September 6 through December 27. Evening Open Sew Class, Thursdays, September 21; October 19; November 16 & December 21. 4:00-9:00 pm

Class - Sew Fun Upcycle Challenge Class
You're going to love participating in this fun project! On Friday, you will go shopping at a local recycle type store. Once you're there, you look for a textile project that you can improve upon with your own creative talent and skills. You'll plan out what you want to do with your new found treasure and then Saturday you'll spend the day sewing up a project you'll be proud to display, wear, or give away--your choice of project.
